God Blessed me twice and then again

Happy Birthday Jer and Jen

Happy Birthday Jer and Jen

Thirty-six years ago this morning I was rolled into surgery to have a C-section. The result of that was a 3 lb. 1 oz. baby girl and a 3 lb. 11 oz. baby boy. Now mind you this was in 1977 before everyone and their brother had small babies – they had to stay in the hospital for a long time. Jeremy came home at 22 days at 4 lb. 9 oz. then Jennifer came home 36 days later at 4 lb. 9 oz.

As today with preemies they had to gain weight, be able to be on normal oxygen and learn how to take a bottle before they could be released. They both needed a little help with oxygen to help their lungs develop. At thirteen days I walked into the nursery (NICU) and found them reviving Jennifer. She had flat lined. I almost went to my knees. However the Lord let me keep her for a while longer. (If you have read my earlier blogs you know we tried for 9 years to have these two babies, having miscarried too many times to count and having a daughter stillborn at full term.)

Now look at them today. Both healthy and they have both became a fine young man and woman.

Jennifer has a 16 year old son that is as tall as his Uncle Jeremy.

My grandson Brenton

I am so thankful that God did see fit to let us have them. The first two years were basically a total blur of just changing diapers, feeding, and all the things that babies need. We had so much fun with them and now as them being grown up and living their own lives we are friends. I thank God everyday for them. I would go through it all again.

September 11 – A day to remember

September 11, 2001

Where were you when the first plane hit the tower in NYC? I was listening to my radio at work. When it was stated that a plane had hit the tower my heart sank. I told my co-workers, they were like “it was an accident”, then the second plane hit and they all got online to watch. We all watched in disbelief as our country changed forever.

The terrorist took something away from us on September 11, 2001. They took our security, they took our trust, they made each of us look at life differently. It will never been the same. At this present time our trust for President Obama is very low because he wants to bomb Syria. In my opinion, as the news has stated I believe he is wanting to “save face”.

Personally I am tired of all the additional loss that Americans have had to suffer because of the wars following the September 11th bombings. Our young soldiers were lied too, they were to get in and get out. It has been twelve long years and we still have our American soldiers dying. They are willing to fight for the USA, yet our country (President and Congress) have let them down so many times. Thousands will never be the same after coming home from one, two, three or more tours over there.

It changes them, I had a friend tell me after Viet Nam – one day he is sitting on a log eating off of a leaf, he got up and his friend sat down where he had been, a bomb hit and killed his friend. Shortly after he was home and expected to “get back to normal”. It just doesn’t happen.

I believe I feel like most American’s, our government doesn’t listen to us anymore. They do what they want to do, they waste our money and live in high style while the people that elected them can’t find a job. Obama has ruined our health care system and if it all goes through we will suffer even more. I have read it and most people have no idea of what it really contains.

Sorry for going off – but I know many of you feel the same way. 12 years and nothing is different. The only hope we have is in Jesus Christ. He said he will one day come for his children. I just hope you are one of them. Most people think because they live in America they are Christian, or if they are good and go to church once in awhile they are Christian. That is not what Christ said.

He said no one will enter Heaven unless they have accepted him into their life and live for him.

“Lift up your eyes to the heavens, look at the earth beneath; the heavens will vanish like smoke, the earth will wear out like a garment and its inhabitants die like flies. But my salvation will last forever, my righteousness will never fail.”
Isaiah 51:5-7

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.”
Romans 1:15-17

“For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
1 Thessalonians 5:8-10

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
John 3:16

All you have to do is confess your sins before Christ and ask him to forgive you and come into your life – that you believe that he is the one and only Christ and the Son of God. He is a jealous God and no one can be saved but by him (it is a personal relationship). If you pray this and truly mean it the Lord will send the Holy Spirit to come and live within you. You will then need to find a church of believers and let yourself grow in Christ.

He is coming one day – please be ready. The way our government is going we will soon become a nation that requires us to have a mark for purchasing food and anything we need to live, it could be a chip with all your information on it – it will be put in your hand or on your forehead. If you do not accept this mark, there will come a time that you won’t be able too provide for your family. Christ will come for his children, those left behind will face horrors never seen on this earth before. If you become a Christian after the Rapture of God’s children – and do not take the mark you will beheaded. This is not a fairy tale.

“…so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name.”
Revelation 13:17 – read 16-18

Revelation 20:4
I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
Revelation 20:3-5

The Good Old Days….NOT

Rocking chair -by-Ava-Lowery

What if you were driving home from work and your car stopped – just died. Everyone else around you are in the same shape. All of their cars have died. You pick up your cell phone to call and it is dead, you look at your watch for the time and yep, it is dead also.

You step out of the car and you hear QUIET, there is no power, no lights anywhere. Then you hear something, look up to see a plane fall from the sky – it’s engines are not running. Everyone around you are as confused as you are. What is going on?

You have no choice but to walk home, no matter how far it is. Once home you find out that it is all of the city has been blacked out. Then later you find out it is everywhere. Something has make all technology die. TV’s, games, medical equipment; you look for candles and kerosene lamps.

You may live a beautiful home full of all the conveniences; central air, refrigerator, dishwasher, hot tub, a new generator, but NONE of it works. Then you turn on the water and it isn’t working either. The water plant is ran by electricity so it can no longer pump water to you. Even your gas grill will not work because it has an electric spark to start it. The banks are closed so you can not get any money, no computers or ATMs either.

You are lucky if your neighborhood has a lake so that you can get water; would you know how to broil it to drink? The stores are now empty of all supplies and people are growing mean and stealing from you and others. You have to keep a gun and someone on watch day and night just for the safety of your family.

What would you do? If you are a prideful person you would feel that everyone owes you part of what they have; yet no one is willing to give. They need to take care of their family. The only way of transportation is a bike if you have one, and if you aren’t careful someone will steal it from you.

The Good Old Days don’t sound as good now do they? You may not know how to trust God for your everyday needs. You may not know how to recycle and put food in a compost pile so that you can use it to plant a garden.

Yet, once you find out that no one knows how long this blackout is going to last you will have to learn. You will have to get to know your neighbors so each can help one another. The elders in your neighborhood may have to show the young mom’s how to make cloth diapers. How to cook on wood and all they knew when they were growing up.

Most of all you would need to turn to God because evil is everywhere. Learning to trust in Him is the only way you will make it through this. Why do you think our ancestors had more faith and were more able to support themselves? Because that is all they could depend on. Why did they come to America? To have freedom of religion and have land of their own to live off.

I hope this never happens but it sure made me think. I am not a survivalist but maybe I do need to think a little more about it. God said the end times are coming and we need to be prepared. Are we? Are you?
